Faulty A/C and Heating in 2023 Seat Tarraco: Seeking Advice on Possible Refrigerant Compressor Issue

Hey there, I've got a bit of a weird situation with my 2023 Seat Tarraco Gasoline. Lately, it's not heating or cooling correctly, plus the A/C won't engage and it's only blowing warm air. I'm wondering if it might be a faulty refrigerant compressor. Has anyone else had this issue and can you share how you got it fixed by your mechanic? I'm really keen to hear about your experiences and any troubleshooting tips you have.

Hey there! I had a decently similar situation with my 2021 Seat Ateca TDI. I'm no car guru, but I've dealt with my fair share of car problems. My cooling system also stopped functioning as yours and, indeed, the car was only blowing warm air. My thought was the same as yours - that it's a busted compressor. It was in actuality something far simpler: the air conditioning refrigerant was empty. Took it to my reliable mechanic, he checked and sorted it out in a jiffy. The best part, it cost me zero Euro. Yup, he billed me 0.00 Euro! Just a kind thought, double-check your car A/C refrigerant level. And, could you give more details about the car. Model, mileage or any recent work done on it? This might help me better tailor my suggestion. Best of luck!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! Funny enough, my Seat Tarraco is about to hit the 71948 KM mark. The coolant levels seem okay, and the latest service was just last month. Maybe I've missed something. I reckon I'll have a mechanic take a look, especially taking your advice about the A/C refrigerant into account. Cheers for your help, I really appreciate your time and advice!

Hi Pally! Hey, no big deal at all! Always happy to share my 2 cents worth, especially when it comes to pesky car problems. Now that you've mentioned about your last month service, here's a kicker - sometimes mechanics, unintentionally might overfill the A/C refrigerant during a service and would cause the same symptoms. Make sure your mechanic checks that - it's an equally likely scenario along with the refrigerant leaking/empty issue. From my experience with my Seat, the devil is often in the details. I'm keeping fingers crossed that you'll have yours sorted out too and it won't burn a hole in your pocket. Shoot us a message once you've got an update. And remember, don't sweat the small stuff!

Hello, I hadn't considered the overfill aspect, thanks for enlightening me about it! It's starting to make sense now why it might not be functioning as expected. I'll definitely ask my mechanic to check if the A/C refrigerant's been poorly filled on top of the current check for any leaks. Your approach seems to hit the nail on the head. Will update you once I get an update from the mechanic on what could be causing all these issues. I'm hoping my wallet will be spared as much as possible! Cheers for all your help. Learning not to sweat the small stuff!
