Fan defective in Skoda Citigo 2019

Blower does not work properly

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Dear community, I have a problem with my Skoda Citigo (built in 2019, petrol engine). The heating/cooling is no longer working properly and the fan is not working properly either. Somehow I have the feeling that it could be the electric auxiliary heater. Have any of you ever had similar problems? How did you get it fixed in the workshop? I would be pleased to hear your experiences and tips before I start tinkering with it at random. Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I drive a Skoda Rapid (2017 model year) and actually had a similar problem. I have a bit of experience with cars, so I'm not a full pro, but not a complete novice either. At first it was quite annoying as my heating and cooling just cut out in the middle of a journey. I went straight to my trusted garage and the fault was quickly found. The cable connection to the electric auxiliary heater was faulty. I had to pay 155 euros for the repair, so that should be in a similar range for you. But to help you more accurately, a little more information about your car might be helpful. For example, can you give more details about the exact engine and trim level? It might also be useful to know if you have noticed any other symptoms. Hope this helps you for now!

Hey, thanks for your answer. So my Citigo has a one-liter engine and standard equipment. I haven't really noticed any other symptoms, just that the heater and fan are acting up. My last service was at 18000 km and everything has been running smoothly since then. So you think it could be the cable connection? Then I'll check that and then go to the garage. Thanks again for the tip!

Hey, yes exactly, in my experience I would say that it is probably due to the cable connection to the electric auxiliary heater. I had read that such malfunctions can occur from time to time, especially with your model. Maybe you're lucky and it really is just a small cable fault. But before you start working on it yourself, I would really advise you to go to a garage first. They'll be able to tell you for sure whether it's this or whether it's caused by something else. I hope this helps you and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing serious. Because I know how annoying unexpected car problems like this can be. Have a safe journey and good luck!

Hey, that's a great help! You're right, I should have the car checked at the garage first before I do anything wrong. I also hope that it's just a small cable fault. It's really annoying when something like this happens, but it's good that there are people like you who I can rely on. I will let you know as soon as I have a definitive answer. Thanks again and have a safe journey!
