Hey, that really doesn't sound good. I had a few problems with my 408 once, but luckily it wasn't anything serious. Can you tell me what you paid for the repair of the control unit? And have you had any more problems with it since then? I hope my problem turns out to be less serious. Always these car problems, eh?

Hey, yes, that was a real number. I paid €1000 for the repair of the control unit, not a penny. But since I've been to the mechanic and fixed the defect in the motor for the steering column adjustment, everything has been running like clockwork. It was absolutely worth it. But I'll keep my fingers crossed that your problem is less costly. It's always something with cars, isn't it?

Hey, thanks for the quick replies and support! It reassures me a bit to know that it's the same model and it wasn't that bad in the end, albeit expensive. Hopefully it's not the ECU on my car. My wallet would appreciate a cheaper solution. I have an appointment with the mechanic next week, let's see what comes out of it. I'll keep you up to date. The joys of car ownership again, eh? See you guys!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Peugeot 405, but it wasn't the steering column adjustment, but something with the control unit was faulty. The mechanic at the garage said it was some kind of electrical problem. But after they found it serious enough to look into the components, they realized that the control unit had to be replaced. It was a serious thing, but luckily they were able to fix it. Hope that helps you a bit. Maybe it's something similar in your case. Of course, it's also possible that it's just the motor of your steering column adjuster. But be sure to have it checked!
