Thanks for sharing your experience. My vehicle has 54091 KM and had its last service 3 months ago. The trunk area appears dry with no visible moisture damage. The parking assist system failure was sudden, one day it just stopped working completely. The blind spot sensors and obstacle detection systems are totally unresponsive, no intermittent function at all. The error code displayed is P0467 but the control module seems to be getting power. No recent work has been done on the rear bumper or surrounding areas that could have damaged the wiring. Given the complete system failure and error code, I am concerned this might be more than just a wiring issue. The 95€ repair cost you mentioned sounds reasonable if it is just connections, hoping mine wont require full control module replacement.

Based on the error code P0467 and symptoms you described, this does sound different from my wiring issue. In my case, the radar sensors would occasionally flicker to life, but yours being completely dead points to a likely control module problem. After my initial wiring fix, I actually had the control module fail about 6 months later, completely different symptoms from the corroded connections. The blind spot sensors, proximity sensors, and rearview camera all stopped working simultaneously, similar to what you are experiencing now. The control module replacement ended up costing 480€ including programming. While expensive, it resolved all parking assist functions. The repair shop explained that these modules commonly fail around 50000-60000 KM in our model year Subarus. Given your mileage and the complete system shutdown, I would prepare for a control module replacement. The good news is that once replaced, the parking assist system should work reliably for many years. Make sure the shop includes a proper calibration of all obstacle detection systems after installation. One quick check you can do: unplug and reconnect the control module connector under the rear trunk carpet. In rare cases, this simple reset can temporarily restore function and confirm whether the module is the culprit.

I appreciate the detailed follow-up about the control module replacement. That definitely helps set my expectations about potential repair costs. Your situation with the complete system failure sounds exactly like what I am experiencing. I tried the reset procedure you suggested by disconnecting and reconnecting the control module under the trunk carpet. Unfortunately, all the radar sensors and obstacle detection systems remained unresponsive. The parking assist still shows the same P0467 error code. Given the similarity of our issues and the fact my car has 54091 KM, it seems the control module is indeed the likely culprit. The 480€ replacement cost is higher than I hoped, but still better than continuing to drive without functional proximity sensors and parking aids. I will schedule an appointment to have the control module replaced and make sure they include a full calibration of the parking assist system. Thanks for helping me narrow down the problem and sharing the actual repair costs. This gives me a much clearer picture of what to expect.

I had a very similar issue with my 2011 Subaru R2. The parking assist system completely failed, with no response from the ultrasonic sensors and rearview camera system. The workshop diagnosed it as loose connectors and faulty wiring in the main harness connecting the proximity sensors to the control unit. They found that moisture had caused corrosion in one of the plugs. The total repair cost was 95€, which covered cleaning the connections, replacing the damaged wiring section, and recalibrating the system. The fix was relatively straightforward once properly diagnosed, but initially, I was worried it might be a more expensive control unit failure. The repair took about 2 hours, and the parking assist system has worked flawlessly since then. Can you share more details about your car: Have you noticed any moisture in the trunk area? Does the system sometimes work intermittently? Are you getting any specific error codes? Have you had any recent work done near the rear bumper? This information would help determine if your issue is similar to what I experienced with the wiring connections.
