Exterior mirror of Citroen Nemo Diesel (2010) does not defrost in winter: experience and tips wanted

Mirror doesn't defrost

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2010 Citroen Nemo Diesel (74000 km run). As you know, it's quite annoying when the wing mirror doesn't defrost properly in winter. I think the fault is either with the wing mirror itself or with the heater. Has anyone here ever had similar problems? How did it go with your mechanic? Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience last time. I'm grateful for any tips!

Hey, I once had a similar problem with my 2007 Citroen Berlingo. In my case it was a faulty cable connection/plug that caused the whole problem. It was really annoying as it affected the functionality of the door mirror. The mechanic had to remove the inner door panel to get at it. It was no small job, but not too bad either. After he replaced the faulty plug and reassembled everything, the mirror worked perfectly again. Hope that helps you. Just have it checked out in the workshop, maybe you have the same problem as me.

Hey, thanks for the info! That sounds like a complete solution. Do you remember the cost of that repair? And has anything else been wrong with the wing mirror or heater since then? Would just like to make sure there are no other hidden problems coming my way. Many thanks in advance!

Hey, sure, no problem! So to solve the problem with the cable connection/plug, the bill was €155. Since then, the wing mirror and its heater have been running really well, without a hitch. Everything has worked well so far and my sheet metal friend is running like clockwork. You just have to remember that it's technology - things can always go wrong, right? The main thing is that it is repaired properly and then everything is back in shape. I hope this helps you and takes away some of your worries.

Wow, that's pretty fair. Thanks for the quick and helpful reply. I'll make an appointment at the workshop and hope that it's just the cable connection. Well, as you said, technology can sometimes fail. And yes, the most important thing is that everything is repaired properly. Thanks for the reassurance! I hope that my little one will soon be fit again.

Good day, I had a similar issue with my car in the past. It turned out to be a faulty heater element in the mirror. Try a trusted mechanic to replace it or get a second opinion if you're unsure. Good luck!
