Experiencing Electrical Issues with 2021 Fiat Toro After 141,659 km: Seeking Advice

Dim or flickering lights

General electric malfunction

Fault stored

Weak battery when starting the engine

Hey everyone, I've been having a bit of a nightmare with my 2021 Fiat Toro, gasoline engine, that's run 141,659 km. Been seeing some electrical gremlins like frequent faults popping up, my lights acting up, sometimes dim or flickering, and a battery that's losing its breath right at start-up. I figured it might be the terminal 30 getting interrupted somehow? Had a pretty rough run-in with a mechanic last time, so wanna avoid that circus. Anyone out there run into something like this? What was your experience like with your mechanic? Cheers for any advice.

Hey there, well I had a pretty similar issue with my 2018 Fiat Tipo, it's diesel though, had done around 120,000 km. Loads of issues with the electrics, lights dimming, even had the battery barely chugging at startup. Don't think it was your terminal 30 acting up though. Turns out it was a dead battery. My experience? Chucked my car into the garage, the guys there ran a complete diagnostic test at first, didn't figure it out. But when the signs pointed to some electrical mishap, they checked my alternator and bingo - was undercharging my battery. They replaced my battery and repaired the alternator. I'm no expert but from what I gathered, a faulty alternator can affect the battery's ability to hold a charge, hence my previous battery drained out. Don’t neglect this, could cause bigger issues down the road. Your symptoms are kinda similar to mine, looks like it's a battery alternator combo. But take it to a trusted mechanic. If it is alternator or battery issue, they’ll sort it out real quick. Hope this helps.

Yo, it's super interesting to hear you had a similar issue with your Tipo. So your battery was as dead as a doornail and the alternator was sneakily undercharging it, eh? I'll definitely keep your advice in mind and won't be neglecting this one. You've got me thinking now about how much I should start saving up. Can you recall how much those repairs ended up costing you? Also, since you got it fixed, have you had any other related problems or was that the end of your car's electrical saga? Thanks again for the help, pal!

Hey, after the to and fro with the mechanic, the interruption of terminal 30 was sorted. Finally, they realized that it was a simple matter of a battery defect. Technician had to recharge the battery and gave it a thorough look-over. It cost me around 290 Euro, may sting a bit but worth it considering the peace of mind it provides. Ever since the mechanic got it fixed, my Tipo has been running smoother than Michael Bublé's voice, not a single electrical problem to report. Looks like that was the end of my car's 'haunting' saga alright! So, if you ask me, pretty sure getting the battery issue resolved will do the trick for your Toro too. G'luck!

Cheers for all the insight! Your experience with your Tipo is really putting me at ease. Okay, I think I'll brace myself for around 300 Euro give or take. I'd also rather put the money down and get the peace of mind you're talking about. Stoked to hear your Tipo's been running as smooth as Bublé since the repair! Gives me hope that the end of my own 'haunting' is near! The info you've shared has spotlighted the importance of a thorough check-up of the battery and alternator. I'll be sure to do that. Thanks a tonne and wish me luck! Done with this electrical nightmare!
