Have any of you had experience with a 2016 Audi A5 gasoline engine exhibiting unusual problems? The symptoms are black smoke when accelerating, check engine light illuminated, engine shuts itself off, loss of power, rough engine, jerking when accelerating, poor fuel economy, strong exhaust smell and stalling at idle. I suspect that it could be due to a fault in the fuel composition. How did you get this problem fixed at your garage and what was your experience? Hi, by chance I had a similar problem with my 2014 Audi A4 petrol car. I have some experience with cars, but I wouldn't say I'm an expert. My garage subsequently found that my fuel was heavily contaminated. That's why a fuel system cleaning was carried out - in my case, that also solved the problem. The whole procedure cost me 205 euros, but the problem was solved afterwards. So it could also be the case with your A5. Do you know how old your fuel filter is or when it was last changed? Maybe there was just bad fuel in the tank or the filter is clogged - it would be good to know so that you can narrow down the problem better. Hope that helps you!

Thanks for your quick reply and the help. The fuel filter was changed at the last service, which was carried out at 67552 km. So that shouldn't be the problem. But the dirty fuel thing could well be true, even if it sounds strange. I will probably have a fuel system cleaning done at my garage and hope that will solve the problem. Thanks again for your tip!
