Error message on Seat Leon Diesel: ABS/DSC malfunction and airbag warning light

Fault stored

Airbag warning light

ABS/DSC system is not working

Greetings, I'm having a few problems with my Seat Leon Diesel (year of manufacture 2009, mileage 148621 km): my ABS/DSC is not working properly, there is also an airbag warning light and another error was saved when I read out the data. I suspect that it is due to the communication with the steering angle sensor. Have any of you ever had similar problems and how did your garage solve the problem? I'm a bit nervous after my last experience with the mechanic... Thanks in advance for your help! Greetings.

Hello, I recently had a similar problem with my Seat Ibiza (built in 2012). I also had the airbag warning light on and problems with ABS/DSC, so I went to the garage. My steering angle sensor was faulty and had to be completely replaced. It was quite a job because the steering wheel had to be removed to change it. But it wasn't actually that serious. It was just annoying because I couldn't use my car for a few days. From my experience, this could also be the case for you. However, every case is individual, so I would recommend you just go back to the garage. Hope this helps you! Greetings.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. It's always good when you're not the only one with the problem, it makes you feel less lonely. You mentioned that your steering angle sensor had to be completely replaced. Do you remember how much that cost? And have you had any other problems since then? Greetings.

Hey, yes, I can tell you that. It cost me €505 to replace the steering angle sensor. That wasn't exactly cheap, but fortunately the problem with the faulty communication has since been resolved. Since then I have been completely satisfied, no further problems have occurred. I hope everything works just as well for you! Greetings back.

Hi, thanks for the information. 505 is a lot, but if it solves the problem, it's worth the price. Good to know you haven't had any further problems since. I hope everything goes smoothly for me too. Thanks for the advice, I'll take it on board and take it to the mechanic. Regards.

How do you do? I had a similar problem with my Leon years ago. In my case, however, the plug of the "rotation rate sensor" was defective. According to the garage, the car needs this data so that it knows exactly what to do in tricky situations. The problem with me was that someone had once retrofitted a subwoofer and probably damaged the connector when laying the cables to the radio, as the sensor is probably located under the center console in this car. The garage then repaired the plug, which cost me around 250 euros with the troubleshooting.
