Error code '0': Cruise control on 2017 Seat Leon stops working

Cruise control without function

Hey guys, I have an annoying problem with my 2017 Seat Leon (petrol, 98765km run). Recently, my cruise control has stopped working, the screen shows an error and according to the garage, an error code is also stored. I've had a pretty bad run with my garage recently, so I'm a bit unsure. Perhaps one of you has had similar experiences and can help me? How did you deal with it and what did your mechanic do? I would appreciate your feedback and experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi mate, I recently had something similar with my 2014 Ibiza. The control unit was faulty. My car simply stopped running reliably and had constant problems with the electronics, just like your cruise control. However, the code was different. From experience, it's definitely possible that an ECU fault is also involved in your problem. When we visited the garage last month, the mechanic replaced the control unit - probably not a minor issue, as it plays a central role in the car's electronics. But don't worry, it was definitely doable and the car is now running perfectly again. Maybe you should also have your control unit checked! Hopefully I was able to help you. Good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! Hmm, a faulty ECU could really be the problem. Can you remember how much you paid to replace the ECU? I'd like to know in advance roughly what to expect. I would also be interested to know if any other problems have arisen since the repair? Thanks again for your help!

Hey, sure, no problem! To be honest, replacing the control unit cost me a whopping 1000 euros. Quite expensive, I know, but after that my car ran like clockwork again. And be happy, since I've been to the mechanic, the cruise control has been working again without any problems. So I was able to cross that item off my list of worries. And no, no further problems have arisen since the repair. The car runs like clockwork! Hope that helps you! Good luck with your car!

Hey, that sounds encouraging! Although this amount of 1,000 euros is not a lot, I really want my car to run properly again. It's really reassuring to hear that your car hasn't had any further problems since the ECU was replaced. Hopefully that will be the case for me too. I will definitely follow your advice and have the ECU checked at my garage. Thanks again for your support! I hope you continue to have a good journey!
