Hey there thanks for the detailed answer, really appreciate it! It sounds like our issues were quite similar. Looking at your experience, gotta admit, I felt a bit relieved. Gonna get the oil checked for sure and get a whole transmission inspection, don't want more serious issues popping up later. By the way, hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did you end up paying for the whole fix up? I'm just trying to get a ballpark figure in mind, you know? Also, did anything else come up related to this since you got it fixed or has your Hyundai been riding smooth? Once again, thanks for your help!
Hey, no problem! Always happy to help a fellow car enthusiast. So, about the costs, I ended up paying roughly 365€. That covered getting the transmission oil level sorted and the comprehensive inspection of the transmission system. Given the complexity of the issue, I'd say it was worth it to avoid any major problems down the line. Post the visit to the mechanic, the issue with my Transmission oil temperature sensor was also resolved, thankfully. It was indeed playing up, just like you were suspecting with your SantaFe. Honestly, ever since that problem, my Tucson's been cruising smoothly - no grinds, no slips, no warning lights. I'm pretty happy with the fix. Still, always remember to keep up with regular maintenance and checks; it can be a real game-changer for the lifespan of any vehicle. Good luck with your SantaFe! Hope it all turns out well for you. Cheers!
Appreciate the prompt response and the detailed insight! I'm definitely a bit more relieved now. 365€ does sound like a solid investment for peace of mind and prevention of bigger issues. Good to hear your Tucson's cruising well since the fix, gives me hope for my old SantaFe too. I'll certainly be a bit more proactive with regular maintenance checks moving forward. Thanks a ton for the sound advice and for sharing your experience. This has really helped. Fingers crossed, hope everything turns out just fine with my car too. Cheers!
Hey! I've got a 2003 Hyundai Tucson and I had a similar problem a while back. Just like you, my ride was acting weird, especially when shifting gears. The grinding noise was a dead giveaway. Just so you know, it was the Transmission oil level that was off in my case, not exactly the temperature sensor. It seems that the erratic shifts and the noise could be due to the lack of proper lubrication. Basically, when the oil level gets too low, the transmission parts start grinding against each other. This can cause some serious damage if not dealt with promptly. I ended up having to take my car to my local garage. The mechanic confirmed my suspicions and topped off the transmission oil. He also recommended a regular check-up to ensure the levels don't drop too low again. Also check if there are any leaks. This kind of issue doesn't usually occur all of sudden unless there's a leak in the system. Additionally, the mechanic checked the transmission for any damage due to the low oil level, which was mandatory given the extent of the issue. Thankfully, mine was sorted out without much fuss or added complications. Your case could be different so definitely take it to a professional to get it checked out. Don't let it slide for too long though, cause the damage could potentially be serious. Cheers!
