Hey, thanks for the tip! Have you been driving without any problems since the repair? And do you happen to remember what you paid for the repair? I'm afraid of getting a big bill and it might be cheaper elsewhere. Has anything else come up since then? I'm really curious to see if I have the same problem. Your advice has already made me feel better. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem! Yes, since the last visit to the garage, my car has been running like a kitten again. The glow plug malfunction you mentioned was also fixed in my car. I had to pay €395 because the wiring harness from the glow control unit to the engine control unit was defective. It wasn't a walk in the park, but nothing has changed since then and my darling is purring away again. That's the way it is with technology, always something new, always expensive. Unfortunately, it's unavoidable. So don't panic, get it checked and then you'll probably have peace of mind again!

Holy cow, €395! That's quite a hefty sum. But given the fact that your car has been purring ever since, it makes me a little less worried. I'll have my garage check for the boost pressure regulator and glow plugs. It feels good to at least have an idea of what it could be. And you're right, in matters like this it's better to be safe than to pay more later. Thanks again for your help. I will keep you posted!

Hello Rennadler, What did you find out? I have the same problem with my A6 and my garage said that it was due to the glow control unit and a glow plug as these are responsible for starting and regeneration. I hope you can help me as my garage would like to have just under €1000 for this. MfG Dani

Car does not start easily and vibrates at the beginning
Hi Irfan, It sounds like you might be dealing with a weak or failing battery, or possibly a problem with your starter motor. Try to check the battery first, as it's the easiest. If the battery is fine, then the issue might be with the starter motor. If you're not comfortable doing these checks yourself, I'd recommend taking your car to a professional mechanic. Remember, if your car is vibrating, it could be a safety issue, so it's important to get it checked out as soon as possible. Do you have any other questions or is there anything else you've noticed that might help diagnose the problem?
Hi, listen, I drive a 2017 Audi Q5 diesel and had almost the same problem. In my case, the garage found a fault in the boost pressure regulator, which they then repaired. They also carried out a DPF regeneration because my car was starting slower and slower and the pre-glow light wouldn't go out. It was a serious issue and the symptoms sound very similar to yours. So it may well be the same with your Audi. The workshop was actually ok, even if it's annoying that something like this can happen. But well, maybe this will help you.
