Hey, thanks for the answer and the detailed explanation! You've really eased some of my worries. The other garage might be a good idea... do you remember what you paid for the repair back then? And has anything else given up the ghost since the ECU was replaced or is your DS3 still running smoothly?

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for! Back then, I spent €1000 on repairing the control unit. It's quite a lot of money at first, of course, but since then the DS3 has been running really well, as if it was fresh from the factory. And yes, the problem with the engine start-stop system was also fixed afterwards. So don't worry, you'll get it sorted. Just don't hang your head!

Wow, that's really reassuring to hear! It's a big chunk of money though, but if it works then it's worth it to me. I'll go to another garage and see what they say. And the engine start-stop system is also good news. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. You have really helped me! Stay healthy and drive carefully. Ciao!

Hey buddy, I had similar problems with my 2011 Citroen DS3 gasoline engine. It turned out that the control unit was defective. It's not actually a huge disaster, but of course it's still pretty annoying when your car stops running. The symptoms were pretty much the same as yours: poor performance, high consumption and my lights were also flickering. The mechanics at my garage replaced the control unit and the car has been running like new ever since. So don't worry too much, it's a problem that can be fixed quite easily. It might be worth asking at another garage if you are unhappy with the work of your current mechanic. Make sure you get it fixed soon before more problems arise.
