Hey, of course I remember! I had to put €275 on the table to fix the activated carbon filter. Since then, however, the leak in the tank ventilation system has been fixed and my car is running like clockwork again. So, it was totally worth it to get the mechanic on it straight away and not hesitate for long. Worth every penny, I'd say! I really haven't had any more problems since then. I hope this helps you and you get your Captur running again soon!

Wow, thanks for your helpful reply! It reassures me a little that the problem doesn't seem to be so rare. I'll make an appointment with the mechanic tomorrow and have my activated carbon filter checked. 275 is quite a lot, but if it gets the car running again, then it's definitely worth it. Your answer has definitely helped me a lot - I really don't know what I would do without your advice, experience and information. At the same time, I'm glad to hear that your car is running well since the repair. Thanks again and I'll provide an update as soon as I get news from the garage. Take care!

Hi there, what's the result for you now? I have the same problem myself and have already spent almost 700 euros on repairs. The only thing missing is the filter......... I would be pleased to receive an answer

Hi Stifflersgarage, sorry to hear about your situation. If you've already spent a significant amount on repairs and the problem persists, it might indeed be the activated carbon filter causing the issue. I would recommend having it checked and replaced if necessary. Once you've done that, please let us know if the problem has been resolved.
Hey, I had a similar problem with my Renault Megane (petrol engine, year of manufacture 2014, 120,000 km). It was actually my activated carbon filter that was defective. The engine ran rough and lost power, very similar to yours. The carbon filter plays an important role in the tank ventilation system as it absorbs the vapors produced by the fuel and feeds them into the intake system where they are burned. If this filter is defective, it can actually cause leaks in the system, affecting engine performance. However, this intervention was far from trivial: it required a mechanic to find the leaks and replace the defective filter. Must admit though, it was a very serious problem and would have caused further damage to the engine had it not been repaired immediately. Hope this helps and you get your car back on track quickly!
