Moin moin, you really seem to have a few problems at the start! I've also had a few problems with my BMW. Do you remember what you had to pay the professionals to repair the engine control unit? And was the problem finally solved afterwards or were there any other advantages or disadvantages? Your experience would be really valuable. Cheers!

Hey, of course I still remember! I paid €240 for the repairs, especially for fixing the low voltage in the car. But, hey, it was worth it. Since the visit to the mechanic, the car has been running like clockwork again, with no faults in the engine control unit. So, the problem was solved thoroughly. I hope that helps you, buddy. Take care!

Thanks guys, your answers have really helped me. It's at least a little reassuring to know that you didn't have any further problems after the repair and that the costs weren't astronomical. I think I'll take my X3 to a professional garage in the next few days and hope that the problem will be fixed. Thanks again and good luck to you both!

Hey buddy, I can relate to that! I had similar problems with my 2011 BMW X5. The engine light stayed on and it ran pretty rough. It wasn't a simple case, my mechanic suspected a problem with the engine control unit. However, as it is quite a technical issue, he preferred to leave the further diagnosis and repair to the professionals in a specialized workshop. So it was definitely a serious problem. Hope this helps you. All the best, man!
