Hey, of course I remember the costs. It cost me a whopping €1320 to repair the timing chain. Quite a chunk, I know. But after that, the car was fit again. Since the visit to the mechanic, the positioning of the crankshaft to the camshaft is now running correctly again and there have been no further problems - at least so far! All symptoms are gone and the car runs perfectly. As expensive as it was, it was definitely worth it. Remember: safety first!

Wow, that really is quite a lot of money. But it's reassuring to know that your car has returned to normal after that. I think I'll take my car to the garage now and have it checked. You're right, safety comes first! Thanks again for your help. I hope that my problem will also be solved.

Hello, the timing belt on my Ford Focus Mk2 1.6 ti is new. After a test drive, the engine control lamp came on. But the engine runs normally. The error memory was deleted and the engine control lamp remains off but the error is back in the error memory. What could be the cause and what should I do? The engine runs normally.

It's possible that the timing belt replacement may not have been done correctly, or there could be an issue with a sensor. I would recommend having the error codes read out. This will give you a better idea of what the issue might be. Once you have the error codes, you can look them up or post them here for further assistance. Please keep us updated on your progress.
Hey, I actually had a similar problem with my 2013 Ford Fiesta. For me, it was also about the position of the crankshaft to camshaft and in the end it turned out that the timing chain was elongated. This caused practically all the symptoms you describe - the engine ran rough, made strange noises and there was also a loss of power. The timing chain had probably been broken for a while before I tackled it. The mechanic had to replace it completely. It was definitely a serious problem because the faulty timing chain could cause further damage to the engine. Please bear in mind that every case is different and what worked for me may not necessarily work for you. However, I would definitely recommend taking the car to the garage as soon as possible and having it checked. I hope I've been able to help you a little.
