Electrical seat fault in Peugeot 1007 from 2006: Workshop recommendations requested

Electric seats malfunction

Fault stored

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Peugeot 1007, year of manufacture 2006, petrol engine, and about 105727 kilometers run. My electric passenger seat is acting up and 'electric passenger seat error stored' is displayed. Very unpleasant thing and after a lousy experience with the last garage, I would be very grateful for your insights and experiences. Have any of you ever had a problem like this and can recommend a good garage? Thanks in advance! Greetings

Hello, I have a Peugeot 3008, built in 2009, and not so long ago I also had the problem with the "control unit defective". You're right, it's really rare, but it was the case for me. In my experience, it was a serious matter because the control unit takes over essential functions in the vehicle. In my garage, they had to replace the whole control unit, which is no easy task. It's not just the hardware, but also the software that they had to re-install. It was definitely not a quick fix and took some time, but since then my Peugeot has been working perfectly again. I would therefore recommend going to a garage that has experience with this sort of thing. I hope this helps you a little. Good luck! Greetings

Hey, thanks for your quick response and the info! That sounds like a pretty big job and it's good to know that it's not exactly a small thing. Do you happen to remember how much it cost you to replace the control unit? And have there been any unexpected problems since then or is your Peugeot now running smoothly? I'd like to know this so that I can roughly estimate what's in store for me. Thanks and best regards!

Hi, sure, no problem, I can explain it to you in more detail. It actually cost me €1000 to replace the control unit. Uff, that was quite a blow, but since then my Peugeot has been running like clockwork. No further inconveniences or unexpected faults since this replacement. The issue with the fault in the electric passenger seat has also been resolved, no more problems since the visit to the garage. So, I would say it was worth it. Brace yourself, your wallet might cry, but then your Peugeot should be back on the road. All the best with it! Greetings!

Hi there, €1,000 is certainly not a small amount, but if the problem is solved afterwards and everything runs smoothly again, then it's probably worth it. And better that than a quick "repair" that doesn't last and then you have to keep going back to the workshop. I really appreciated your advice and will keep it in mind when I go to a garage. Thanks again for the information! See you then, greetings!
