Electrical problems and battery weakness in Opel Adam 2019: experiences wanted

Weak battery when starting the engine

General electric malfunction

Hey guys, I need your help. I have a 2019 Opel Adam, gasoline engine, has almost 68,000 km on the clock. Recently the electrics have gone completely haywire, everything is starting to flicker, error message saved and when I start it, the battery is really weak. My guess is that terminal 30 is interrupted. Have any of you ever had something like this and can give me a tip on how it went at the mechanic? I don't want to be ripped off again like last time. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I can definitely relate to what you're going through. I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Corsa not too long ago. I also had the "battery sensor faulty" message pop up, and I had similar symptoms to yours - the electrics were acting up and my battery seemed to be low. The mechanic at my garage replaced the battery sensor and checked the entire on-board system. He said the problem could well be something serious if not fixed in time, as it affects the entire electrical system and could even cause a loss of steering power. It definitely sounds like you could have a similar interruption. I would advise you to visit a garage as soon as possible to get this checked out.

Hey, thanks for your reply! I was honestly hoping it wasn't that serious, but what the heck.... It definitely sounds like I need to take my car to a mechanic. How deep did you have to dig into your pocket for the battery sensor change and the whole check, if you remember? Has a similar problem occurred again since the change? Many thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem! Changing the battery sensor and checking the electrical system cost me €315. Since the mechanic fixed the break in terminal 30, my car has been running smoothly again and this problem has not recurred. It's quite a lot of money, but in my opinion it's worth every penny to ensure the entire electrical system and general safety. You can see if you can find a garage that will give you a better price, but don't take it lightly!

Wow, over €300... That's quite a house number. But well, safety first of course. I'll probably get several quotes so that I don't get ripped off again. Thanks again for the information and the warning. Then I know what to expect. Hopefully my car will remain fault-free afterwards. Have a nice day and a good trip with your Corsa!

Hello, Does the Adam have a battery sensor? If so, I would start troubleshooting here first, and also check the fuses, which are usually installed near the battery. If there is no sensor installed, I think the battery is simply a little old.
