Electrical faults and air conditioning system message error in Mercedes S Class 2009

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

General electric malfunction

Hey guys, my 2009 Mercedes S Class petrol car has recently started experiencing strange electrical faults and a warning light on the speedometer is flashing. I suspect the air conditioning message fault could be the culprit, but I'm not sure. Have you had similar problems and how were they solved in the workshop? Looking forward to your answers and experiences! Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Mercedes E-Class. I would describe myself as someone with little car experience, but I think I can help you here. In my case, the cold shut-off valve was defective. I had it done myself in the garage and now everything is running smoothly again. The best thing about it: I didn't have to pay a penny for the repair. But to be able to help you more precisely, I would need more information about your vehicle. Is it a specific model or are there any other special features you should know about?

Hi, thanks for your reply! My car has 71396 kilometers on the clock so far and the last service was a few months ago. There is no special equipment or modifications, everything is standard. I'll consider your idea with the cold shut-off valve. Glad to hear you didn't have to pay for it, hopefully I'll have the same luck! Thanks again, really helpful!

Hey, sure, you're welcome! With just over 70,0000 kilometers, your Benz only has half its life ahead of it if you treat it well! Your last service was only a few months ago, so that's good to know. So there shouldn't be a fundamental problem. However, if you see the same warning light as I did back then, it could actually be the cold shut-off valve. See if there are any signs that the air conditioning isn't working properly. Another tip: try reading out the fault memory or having it read. This may help you to find the cause. Good luck with this and keep us up to date!

Many thanks for the detailed reply and the advice! I will definitely check whether the air conditioning is working properly and probably also have the fault memory read out. I'll keep the refrigeration shut-off valve in mind, maybe that really is the cause. I'll get back to you when I know more or when the problem has been solved. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help!
