Electrical failures and Flex-Ray-Bus error on 2021 Ford EcoSport with 135150 km: experience and tips wanted

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my 2021 Ford EcoSport with 135150 km. I have general electrical failures, the sat nav is acting up and the indicator lights on my speedo are also acting up. I suspect it could be a fault with the flex-ray bus. Have any of you ever had similar problems and what was your experience at the mechanic? I had a few bad experiences last time. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Ford Edge a while back. Electrical failures, sat nav wasn't working either and the indicator lights were crazy. In the end it turned out that the ECU was faulty. It was quite serious as the ECU is crucial to the technical aspects of the vehicle. At my garage they had to replace it completely, not an easy job to say the least. Would say definitely get it checked - better to be safe than sorry mate. Hopefully it's not as drastic for you. Good luck with that!

Hello, that sounds pretty serious. I wouldn't have expected a defective control unit. Do you have any idea what the whole thing cost you financially? And have there been any similar problems since then or has everything gone smoothly? Thank goodness I haven't had any major problems with my Ford EcoSport so far... Thanks already!

Of course, I can tell you that. After I went to the mechanic, the fault on the Flex-Ray bus was rectified and everything has been running smoothly again ever since. Repairing a control unit is no mean feat, it cost me just under €1000, but it was worth it. Since then there have been no more problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your Ford EcoSport doesn't get any worse.

1000€?! Wow, that's a lot of money. But if it helps and everything goes smoothly since then, then I'd say it's probably worth it. Thanks for your advice, buddy. I hope my EcoSport gives it a rest soon. Wish me luck!
