Electrical failures and battery weakness in the 2021 Mercedes EQC - Please share your experiences and advice

Dim or flickering lights

Weak battery when starting the engine

Fault stored

General electric malfunction

Hi guys, I'm currently having some issues with my 2021 Mercedes EQC (diesel, 57323 km mileage). I'm frequently struggling with electrical failures, stored errors, weak or flickering lights and a weak battery when starting. I think the problem may be due to an open circuit in terminal 15. Do any of you have experience with such problems? What is your experience with your mechanics if you have had similar problems? I wasn't really satisfied on my last visit to the garage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Hello, I recently had a similar problem with my 2018 Mercedes GLC. There were exactly the same symptoms - the flickering light and the problems when starting revealed the defect in the engine control unit. Exactly the same as your descriptions. I have to say that when I went to the garage, the guys discovered that my engine control unit was broken. That was of course a more serious problem. It controls virtually all the electronic data for engine management, so it's nothing to take lightly. The good news is that after replacing the engine control unit, my car is running smoothly again. So, off to the garage to have it checked. With problems like this, it's better to be on the safe side. Saves you a lot of trouble and expensive repairs in the end. Have a safe journey!

Hey, thanks for the info! I'm glad to hear that your Mercedes is running well again after replacing the engine control unit. Do you remember what you paid for the repair? And since the replacement, have there been any other problems or has everything gone smoothly? Thanks again for the help!

Hi, no problem! Well, I had to fork out €1000 for the repair of the engine control unit, not exactly a penny, but since then my old car has been running like clockwork again. And about the interruption in terminal 15: the guys at the garage fixed it at the same time, and nothing has happened since. So, it's best to have it checked too. It's a steep price at first, but it pays off in the long run, if you ask me. Everything has been running smoothly for me since then, so it was definitely worth it. Keep me posted on how it goes for you. All the best!

Hey, that sounds really reassuring! 1000€ is a tidy sum, but if it really fixes the problem, then it's worth the money. Thanks again for your help and experience, you've helped me a lot. I will do the same with my car and see if it fixes the problem. I will keep you posted on how it goes. See you then!
