Electrical and sat nav problems in the Citroen Berlingo 2009: Possible causes and solutions

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Navigationssystem is not working

General electric malfunction

Hey guys, I've noticed a few strange problems with my Citroen Berlingo (gasoline, built in 2009). The electrics are acting up, the sat nav no longer works and a warning light in the speedometer is illuminated. I have a suspicion that it could be due to faulty coding. Have any of you had similar experiences and how did you get to grips with it? What experiences did you have when you had it fixed in the workshop? I would be very happy to hear your tips and experiences!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Citroen C3 (gasoline, year of manufacture 2007). I only have a little car knowledge, but I went to the garage straight away. It turned out that the control unit was defective. The repair service ended up costing me 1000 euros. Could you perhaps give me a few more details about your Berlingo, such as mileage and whether any repairs have been carried out in the past? Then I could perhaps be more specific about what you could do. Hope that helps you!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My Berlingo now has 145982 KM on the clock. There have been a few repairs, but I can't really remember anything extensive. It's really expensive, but if there's no other way. I'll have to go to the garage for better or worse. Do you have any other tips before I do that? Thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! With the mileage, it's not unusual for one or two repairs to be necessary. I would recommend that you perhaps have a fault readout carried out at an independent workshop before you go to the authorized workshop. This might give you an overview of what's going on and you can decide whether you can repair it yourself or have it done at the authorized workshop. Have you also checked whether all the fuses are in order? Sometimes a minor problem can lead to major symptoms. And yes, repairs can be expensive, unfortunately that's part of driving a car. Hope this helps you a little!

Great, thanks for the helpful answer! I will definitely follow the troubleshooting tip and checking the fuses is also a good idea. Yes, unfortunately we all have to deal with the repair costs. Off to the garage then. Thanks again for your tips, you've really helped me out!
