Electric seats malfunction

Hey, sounds like I'm wading through the same mud with my own Lexus RX. Those electric seat gremlins sure do love to pop up, don't they? I'm just curious, if you don't mind me asking, how much the garage ran you for the fix? And have you had any other sneaky problems creep up since you got the seats sorted out?
Hey, good to hear from you! Ah, the good old electric seat gremlins, they sure do love to throw us for a loop, don't they? So, on the cost front, it ran me around 95€ for the cable and plug connection fix. After all, the only thing more annoying than the problem is a hefty garage bill, am I right? I'm happy to report that ever since those fellas at the garage addressed the problems, my seats have been on their best behavior. It's been smooth sailing, or should I say gliding? None of that functional limitation business I was dealing with earlier. Just goes to show that good ol' cable tweaking works wonders. So far, fingers crossed, no other sneaky issues have reared their ugly heads. Let's hope it stays that way! It's always something with these old beasts, isn't it? Anyway, don't let it get under your skin. It's all part of the adventure of owning a classic like the Lexus RX!
Thanks a million for sharing your experience and giving such a thorough response! It's always reassuring to hear from someone who's been in the same shoes. I'm actually pretty relieved that it doesn't sound like a major or overly expensive issue. Hoping my seats follow suit and stay well-behaved post cable-fix. About new issues, you know what they say: Old is gold, but it certainly comes with its quirks! Good to know we're all in this together. Cheers!
Hey there, I totally get your situation. I drive a 2007 Lexus GX and had a similar problem few years back. The electric seats in my car were acting up, wouldn't move as per the controls and all that headache. So, I ended up taking it to the garage. Turned out, the issue was with the cable and plug connection, just like you're suspecting. There was some minor wear and tear due to use and age, nothing serious thankfully. So, what the lads at the garage did, they replaced the old, defective cables and fixed the plug connection. They told me that this sort of issue is pretty common in our kind of cars, something about how the electrics and older parts interact. Sure, it was a little annoying, but they got it all sorted out and since then, the seats have been working just fine, touch wood. Guess sometimes all it takes is a bit of cable tweaking, eh? So, don't sweat it too much. It's a relatively straightforward fix.
