Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! This sounds exactly like what I'm going through. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for all that work? And has everything been working smoothly since the repair? Just trying to get an idea of what I'm in for cost-wise and if it's actually worth fixing.
Hey again! Good news, I can tell you exactly how much it cost me since I just had it fixed. The total came to 390€, which covered replacing the defective door handle for the comfort access system. While it wasn't exactly cheap, I can say it was totally worth it! The car's been working like a charm since then, no more unusual locking/unlocking or key fob issues. I know it might seem like a lot upfront, but honestly, having a properly working access system makes such a difference in daily life. No more standing in the rain trying to manually unlock the door or worrying if the car will lock properly when I leave it! My advice would be to get it sorted sooner rather than later, these issues tend to get worse (and more expensive) if you leave them too long. Plus, it's really nice to have everything working as it should again. Good luck with getting yours fixed!
Thanks so much for the detailed info! I actually went ahead and got it fixed last week at the shop you recommended. You were spot on about everything, they found similar issues with my car. The mechanic diagnosed a faulty door sensor and some corroded wiring in the driver's side door. Total bill came to about 420€, which was pretty close to what you paid. Got to say, it's such a relief having everything working properly again! No more struggling with manual keys or wondering if my car's actually locked. The mechanic was super professional and even showed me what was causing the problems. Really appreciate your help on this one, saved me from another expensive wild goose chase at my old mechanic's place. Definitely keeping this shop's contact for future repairs. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
Hey there! I faced a similar situation with my 2008 Mitsubishi Colt (1.5L gas). The comfort access system started acting weird, sometimes the central locking wouldn't respond to the key fob, and other times the doors would unsual lock/unlock. Took it to my regular garage last month, and turns out there were multiple issues. The door handle sensor was failing (common problem), and there was a faulty wiring connection in the driver's door. Also, the key fob's circuit board had some corrosion. It wasn't a major repair, but it needed proper diagnosis with specialized equipment. The mechanic had to replace the handle sensor assembly and repair the wiring harness. Make sure you find someone who's familiar with Mitsubishi's electronic systems, it's not something every shop can handle correctly. Hope this helps with your search!
