Thanks for sharing your experience with the EVAP system problems. The rough idle combined with the check engine light really had me worried, and your detailed explanation helps understand what might be going on with the fuel tank ventilation. Did the repairs fully resolve your stalling issues? Would be great to know how much you ended up paying at the automotive repair shop and if any related problems have surfaced since the fix. Planning to get this looked at soon and want to make sure I budget correctly.

After the automotive repair shop properly diagnosed and fixed the tank ventilation system, all stalling problems completely disappeared. The repair costs came to 175€, which covered cleaning the clogged vapor hoses and replacing several deteriorated components. The check engine light hasnt returned in the 6 months since the repair. The idle is now perfectly smooth and fuel efficiency has actually improved slightly. The mechanic confirmed the purge valve itself was functioning correctly, the real culprit was those blocked ventilation lines leading to the fuel tank. Make sure your repair shop performs a complete system pressure test and checks all EVAP components. A proper gas cap seal inspection is also crucial since that can cause similar symptoms. Getting it fixed promptly is important to prevent additional damage to the emission control system.

I greatly appreciate all the feedback about the EVAP system issues. After dealing with the stalling and check engine light problems, I finally took my E Pace to a different automotive repair shop that specializes in emission system diagnostics. The mechanic performed a complete fuel tank and EVAP system inspection. The purge valve tested fine, but they found significant blockage in the ventilation lines, very similar to what was described. The total repair came to 190€, which included cleaning the entire system and replacing two damaged vapor hoses. The car runs perfectly now, no more stalling, the check engine light is off, and the idle is smooth again. Really glad I addressed this before it could cause more extensive damage. The specialized shop definitely made the right call compared to my previous mechanic who misdiagnosed the issue.

I had identical symptoms with my 2018 Jaguar I Pace Hybrid at around 125000km. The check engine light came on and the idle was extremely rough. After thorough diagnostics, it turned out the EVAP system had multiple issues. The main problem was clogged vapor hoses connecting to the fuel tank, which prevented proper ventilation. The original diagnosis suggested a faulty purge valve, but the actual issue was more complex. The vapor lines had accumulated debris and carbon deposits, restricting proper fuel tank ventilation. This caused the emission system to malfunction and triggered the engine management system to run rich, leading to the stalling issues. The repair required cleaning the entire EVAP system and replacing several deteriorated hoses. It was a serious issue that needed immediate attention since restricted ventilation can damage other components and affect fuel efficiency. A proper diagnostic scan revealed multiple EVAP-related trouble codes that helped pinpoint the exact problem. Make sure the shop performs a complete EVAP system test, including checking the gas cap seal and all connecting hoses. The symptoms you describe match exactly what happens when the tank ventilation system fails to operate correctly.
