Drivetrain Malfunction and Jerking on Acceleration in BMW 5

Hello everyone, I own a 2012 BMW 5 with 120,000 km on it. Recently, I've been experiencing some issues with my car. It jerks during acceleration, and I keep getting a 'Drivetrain malfunction' warning, which causes the car to go into limp mode. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? What could be causing these issues, and what steps should I take to diagnose and fix them? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Start by checking the spark plugs and ignition coils, as worn or faulty ones can cause misfires leading to jerking and drivetrain warnings. If these components are fine, consider scanning for error codes to pinpoint the issue. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!

Since the spark plugs are new, the next step is to inspect the ignition coils for any signs of wear or damage. If they seem fine, use an OBD-II scanner to check for any stored error codes, which can help identify the specific issue causing the drivetrain malfunction. Keep me updated on your findings or if you need further assistance!

Spark plugs are fairly new

Consider checking the fuel injectors for clogs or issues, as they can also cause jerking and drivetrain warnings. If you have access to an OBD-II scanner, it can help identify any related error codes. Let me know if you need more help or have any updates!
