Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! This really helps, as it sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. When you had it fixed at the dealer, do you remember roughly how much they charged you? Also, has everything been smooth sailing since the repair, or have you noticed any other quirks?
Hey again! Yeah, happy to share more details. Since I got it fixed at my local Infiniti dealer back in summer, everything's been running perfectly smooth no warning lights or any other issues. The total bill came to 65€ for diagnosing and fixing the Ad-Blue level that was too low. Honestly, it was worth every penny just for the peace of mind. They sorted out the empty Ad Blue tank issue, and I haven't had a single problem since. My QX50's been purring like a kitten! I know you mentioned having trust issues with mechanics after a bad experience, but sometimes going straight to the dealer is the way to go, especially with these emission system warnings. They've got all the right diagnostic tools and know these cars inside out. Just make sure you don't put off getting it checked these warning lights can be a real pain if you let them go too long. Let me know how it goes when you get it sorted!
Thanks a lot for all the helpful info! I bit the bullet and took my car to the Infiniti dealer yesterday. You were spot on it was the Ad-Blue issue plus a faulty sensor. Total bill came to around 700€, which was more than yours because they had to replace the sensor too. The mechanic was actually really good at explaining everything. He showed me exactly what was wrong and even gave me some tips about preventing future problems. They fixed it in about 3 hours, and I'm happy to report all the warning lights are gone now! Funny story though while I was waiting at the dealership, I accidentally locked myself out of my locker where I kept my stuff! The staff were super nice about it and helped me out. At least it gave me something to laugh about while waiting. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It definitely helped me make the right decision. Car's running great now, and I finally found a mechanic I can trust. Thanks again!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Infiniti QX50 diesel last summer. When my Ad-Blue got too low, I got the same warning combo check engine light, DPF warnings, the works. Took it to my local Infiniti dealer since I didn't want to mess around with the emission system. Turns out the Ad-Blue level sensor was faulty, which triggered all those warnings. They had to replace the sensor and refill the Ad-Blue tank. The system needed a reset and recalibration after the fix. It wasn't a serious issue, but it's important to get it sorted quickly because these warning combinations can lead to the car going into limp mode if ignored. The whole job took about 2 hours, and my car's been running fine since then. No more warning lights. If you're near the scheduled maintenance anyway, I'd suggest having them check the entire DPF system while they're at it, just to be on the safe side.
