Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. My mileage is at 98128 KM and I just had my service last month. I do mostly city driving, maybe highway once or twice a week for short trips. I'm getting the P2002 and P2459 codes, which definitely point to the DPF system. Your repair cost sounds pretty steep, but I guess that's what we're looking at with these issues. Did you notice any improvement in performance after the cleaning? I'm a bit worried since my car's been really sluggish lately. Also, any specific workshop recommendations would be great. My regular mechanic isn't too familiar with hybrid systems, so I'm looking for someone who really knows their stuff with these models.
Hey again! Thanks for getting back with those details. Yeah, those fault codes definitely ring a bell, they're exactly what I had on my Attrage before the DPF cleaning. And your driving pattern sounds really similar to what mine was, lots of city driving, which honestly isn't ideal for DPF regeneration. After the cleaning, my car was like new again! The power came back immediately, and that annoying sluggishness completely disappeared. Trust me, it was worth every cent of that 1325€, even though it hurt my wallet at the time! For the workshop, I'd really recommend AutoTech Solutions on Industrial Avenue, they're the ones who fixed mine. Ask for Mike, he's their hybrid specialist and really knows these Mitsubishi systems inside out. Just tell him with the silver Attrage sent you (he'll remember me from all my visits last year, haha). One tip though, since you're doing mostly city driving like I was, try to take your car for a good 20-30 minute highway run at least once a week. I've been doing this since my repair, and it's helped prevent the DPF from clogging up again. Been running smooth for almost a year now! Let me know how it goes after you get it checked out. Always happy to help a fellow Mitsubishi owner!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate all the detailed info and recommendations. It's super helpful to hear from someone who's been through the same thing. I'll definitely check out AutoTech Solutions and ask for Mike, it's actually not too far from where I live. You've made me feel a lot better about potentially spending that much on the repair, knowing it made such a big difference to your car's performance. And thanks for the tip about the weekly highway runs, that's something I can easily do on my weekend grocery trips. I'll give Mike a call tomorrow and set up an appointment. Will definitely take your advice about mentioning your name too! Thanks again for all your help, it's great to find someone who really gets these hybrid issues. I'll let you know how it goes after the repair!
Hey there! I had a very similar issue with my 2015 Mitsubishi Attrage Hybrid (I also own a Galant). As someone with some experience working on cars, I can tell you DPF issues can be really tricky. Last year, my car showed the same symptoms, engine light, sluggish performance, the works. Took it to my trusted workshop in town, and they found the DPF was severely clogged. Ended up costing me around 1325€ for a thorough DPF cleaning and system reset. Could you share your current mileage and how often you do highway driving? This info would help me understand if you're facing the same problem I had. Also, which fault codes are you getting specifically? Since you've got a slightly older model, there might be some differences, but I'd be happy to share more details about my repair process if this sounds similar to your situation!
