Discussion on 2019 Lexus NX Excessive Bouncing and Warning Light Issue

Excessive Bouncing

Bouncing excessively over bumps

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey! I've been facing a weird issue with my 2019 Lexus NX (Gasoline model). When I hit bumps, it's bouncing way more than normal and the warning light on the speedometer keeps coming on. I'm suspecting it might be a problem with the damper adjustment in the chassis, but I'm not quite sure. Has anyone else experienced this and could offer advice on troubleshooting? Would love to hear about your experiences getting this fixed. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I had a similar problem with my 2017 Lexus RX a while back, so I might be able to help. My level of car expertise is quite low, but my mechanic at my trusted garage checked it out. Turns out, it was a defective cable connection causing the problem. It cost me 155€ to get fixed. Could you specify a bit more about your vehicle condition and the warning alerts you're getting? Then I can potentially give more detailed suggestions based on my past experience. Hope this helps a bit!

Hey, thanks for the quick response. Judging by the mileage of my Lexy, it's at 122049 KM, I know it's a bit high running, but it's been pretty well kept, latest service was just a month ago. On the warning alerts, it's kind of generic, like a yellow exclamation mark on the speedometer. It doesn't specify what might be wrong. Your experience does give me some insight. Could be a similar issue, I'll surely get it checked at a local garage here. Cheers!

Hey, no problem, we’re all here to help each other out. Your Lexus NX indeed has got quite a mileage on it. One other possible issue could be something to do with the shock absorbers or the suspension system because of the excessive bouncing you described. Maybe there's a lack of damping resistance. However, seeing that it’s been well-maintained and recently serviced, it might be less likely. The yellow exclamation mark is indeed a bit of a puzzle. It's an all-purpose vehicle alert, could indicate anything from low tire pressure to serious brake system issue. In my case, the mechanic had to hook up a diagnostic tool to get the exact problem. If I were you, I'd definitely have a professional look it over soon just to play it safe. Better safe than sorry, especially when it's about our precious wheels. Let me know how it goes. All the best!

Hey, appreciate the follow up. You're right about the shock absorber or suspension system, if those are causing the loops, I'll get it right to a mechanic. That little yellow alert is a bit bothersome in its vagueness, but like you said, gotta get it professionally diagnosed. Nothing but the best for my Lexy, after all. You've been a great help in narrowing it down. I'll definitely let you know how it turns out once fixed. Thanks again and take care!
