Discussion on 2015 Kia Sportage's Faulty Power Windows and Potential Fixes

Fault stored

Power windows malfunction

Hey! I'm dealing with a bit of a head-scratcher here. My 2015 Kia Sportage, gasoline model, has been acting up lately. The power windows are on the fritz and I've got a fault stored as well. I tried messing around with the window regulator but it seems like the learning process didn't go as planned. Have any of you had a similar issue? What did your mechanic do to fix it? Would really appreciate any insights or shared experiences. Cheers!

Hey there. I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2013 Kia Sorento. Not exactly an automobile whiz, but I've got some experience under my belt. Found that the car battery was at fault, not the window regulator. Got it changed at my usual workshop and that ran me about 290 Euro. Worked like a charm after. On that note, did you check the battery? Since we're talking about different models here, it might not be exactly the same issue. If you could share more about any faults or error messages, I might be able to help more. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey! Thanks for the advice. Haven't really thought about the battery aspect. The error message was kinda ambiguous, to be honest. Just said window malfunction and nothing more. Given she's done 55233 KM km on the clock I wouldn't be surprised if it was the battery, it's been a while since her last service. I'll take her in over the weekend, get the battery checked and keep you updated. Thanks for the tip, fingers crossed indeed.

Hey, no problem, happy to help a fellow car lover out! Yeah, a vague error message like 'window malfunction' can leave you scratching your head. Definitely could be due to the battery, considering the mileage on your Sportage. I remember when I took my Sorento in; they did a complete check of the battery's condition, recharged it and the windows began to function correctly thereafter. Really hope it's just a battery issue for you, too. It's always a relief when it's not a big-ticket item causing the trouble. Do update after your visit to the service center, eager to see if I hit the nail on the head with the advice! Safe driving and good luck!

Hey, absolutely appreciate the insights and helpful tips! Definitely gotta agree with you there, fingers crossed it's just the battery and not an uber-pricey fix. I'll defiantly make sure to update soon as I get any news from the service center. It's cool to find who know their stuff and are willing to help others out. Stay safe on the road and thanks again! Cheers!
