Hey, thanks for the reply! Bit relieved to hear I wasn't overthinking the problem. For your question, the last I checked my odometer, it had clocked 111553 km. The last service? Hmmm... that was a couple of months back. The guy at the service station didn't flag anything serious, ya know, just the usual oil change, tires, and filters. Let me know if you need any more details. Cheers!
Hey, sounds good! Your vehicle has some good miles on it. But that's not a matter of concern as long as we take proper care, right? You mentioned your last service was a couple of months back, and that's a pretty decent interval. From what I understand, these ignition key hall sensors can start misbehaving as the mileage gets up there - happened with mine around the 120,000 km mark. Given that yours is relatively close to that, it wouldn't surprise me if your Mazda is facing the same trouble. If you got the usual maintenance tasks covered in your last service, and the only thing left is this ignition warning light, your best bet could be to get your ignition system checked. In my case, the mechanic did a quick diagnosis and spotted the problem rapidly. I recommend you do the same. Even if it's not the hall sensor, there could be an issue with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or even the ignition switch itself. I learned from my mechanic that these parts can cause similar starting and locking issues if they fail. Hope this info puts you in the right direction. But remember, it's always best to have a skilled mechanic confirm your suspicions! Keep us posted on your progress! Safe driving!
Hey! You've been a real help! It's uncanny how our cars are facing similar sensor issues. Sure does make me less anxious about it all. Your advice to visit a professional mechanic is spot on, and I'm planning to get it checked first thing in the morning. I'll also have them look at the ECU and the ignition switch too, just to be sure. Will keep y'all updated with whatever comes up. Here's hoping it's nothing serious and can be sorted out without burning a hole in my pocket. Thanks again for taking the time to reply, truly grateful! Safe driving to you too, stay safe! Cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar experience with my 2016 Mazda 6, it's almost akin to your Mazda 3, just a different model. I'm no expert, but I've got some hands-on experience with cars. The culprit with my ride was indeed a faulty Ignition key Hall sensor too, specifically, an Insertion slot defect. I took it to my local workshop and they confirmed my suspicion. The damage was a decent 290€ which considering the headache it was giving me, was well spent. Can you give me a bit more info on your vehicle? Things like mileage, service history, et al. It'd help me provide a better understanding based on my experience. Remember, every car behaves differently, even if of the same breed!
