Discussion about continuous tire pressure display on a 2016 diesel Mercedes GLE Class

Tire pressure to low

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2016 diesel Mercedes GLE Class. It already has 139,186 km down and keeps showing that the tire pressure is too low. Didn't have the best experience at the mechanic the other day and before I go back, I wanted to ask around if any of you have the same problem and how it was solved at your mechanic. Any experiences and tips are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Hey buddy, I had a similar problem with my 2013 diesel Mercedes GL Class. Has a bit more miles on it, but the symptoms were similar. Turns out it was due to sporadic faulty communication between the ECUs! I actually had to go to the garage last time to fix it. They had to diagnose it, read out the faults and then take the necessary steps to fix it. It was necessary to first identify the ECUs that were causing the fault. Then the software had to be updated. In some cases, a malfunction in the hardware could be the cause, in which case the faulty part would have to be replaced. It was a bit serious, I have to admit, but nothing the mechanic couldn't fix. It was a lot of work but now my car is running smoothly, hope I could help you!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I guess it will probably be the same procedure for me. If you don't mind me asking, how much did this repair cost you? And has anything similar happened again since then or did the repair solve the problem completely? Looking forward to your reply!

No problem, that's what we're here for - to help each other. So, the repair cost me €955. Yes, I know it's not exactly cheap, but what can you do - it's better than having to go to the garage all the time. And to answer your second question, since the repair and correction of the tire pressure, nothing more has come up regarding this problem. My car has been running smoothly ever since. Hope this helps you! All the best!

Gosh, that's a lot of money... But you're right, it's better to solve it now instead of having to keep going back to the workshop. And I'm reassured to hear that nothing has come up with you since then. I really thank you for your open and honest answers. You've helped me a lot and I now feel better prepared when I go to the mechanic. Thank you very much and take care!

Hello Anna Go to a suitable workshop and have it checked whether all the sensors are still transmitting. The sensors are battery operated, perhaps one of them is no longer working. Greetings
