Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience. My Elantra has clocked up 25402 KM on the odometer. Latest service was just a standard one about a month ago, nothing out of the ordinary. As for signs, well, the lights just flicker on and off by themselves, no real rhyme or reason. It's not related to bumps or anything to do with movement, they'll just pop on even when I'm parked sometimes. I did try to fiddle with the light switch, no luck. Appreciate any help you can give me! Cheers.
Hey again! Thanks for the details on your Elantra. It truly is a mystery when lights have a mind of their own, huh? Well, I took a shot in the dark, no pun intended, and did a bit of searching and found out some similar issues encountered by other Hyundai owners. Based on what they've shared, besides a faulty plug connection, another potential cause that's popped up a few times is the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM is like the brain of the car, controlling various functions, including the lighting. It develops glitches with age and use. Considering your vehicle's mileage, it could be a possibility. Having said that, a faulty light switch is not completely ruled out either. You may want to consider having it checked out if the BCM seems fine. Remember, it's just a guess here and I'd firmly advise having a professional check it out for a definite reason. Good luck with the ghost light issue! I hope you manage to solve it without breaking the bank. Keep us updated on the progress! Cheers!
Oh you've been tremendously helpful! Body Control Module, huh? Well, that's something I didn't think of. I've scheduled an appointment to get the car checked out this weekend. Will surely keep the possible issues you pointed out in mind. I hope it's not too costly to fix. Thanks again for your help. Will update you how it goes. Cheers!
Hey! So your Elantra has a gremlin in the lighting system, huh? I ran into something similar with my 2013 Hyundai Sonata- an uncanny familiarity I admit! You could say I have some car experience- after all, I've seen and dealt with my fair share of car issues. In my case, it turned out to be a Faulty plug connection causing the trouble. My pocket ended up 222€ lighter post-trip to my trusted workshop- a fact that still smarts a bit. Still, without more details about your car, it's hard to give any accurate advice. Mind sharing more about your vehicle (mileage, signs you might have noticed, etc.)? Equipped with a bit more info I might be able to guide you further. Cheers!
