Discussing Fix Solutions for Faulty Air Conditioning in a 2010 Nissan President

Air conditioning blows warm air

|

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey! I'm dealing with a weird issue on my 2010 Nissan President with a Gasoline engine lately. The air conditioning only seems to blow warm air and the overall cooling/heating is just inadequate. My first hunch is that it might be linked to a faulty air quality sensor signal. Has anyone else faced this problem before? If so, how did your workshop figure it out and what was their approach to fixing it? Keen to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have. Thanks.

Hey! I faced a similar situation with my 2008 Nissan Cima. I'd say I've got some experience, being a long-time car owner. My issue turned out to be a defective line/cable that was messing with my air quality sensor signal, just like you suspected. Had it sorted out at my local garage, didn't put me out too much - cost about 95 Euro. It was all pretty straightforward once they figured out the exact problem. With your ride, it would be great if you could provide more info like if you've noticed any specific issues around the time your A/C started acting up, or has there been any recent work done that might've caused this? This could help us get a clearer picture of what's happening. Hope this helps!

Hey there, thanks for the response! Just to fill in with some additional information for you. My Nissan President has been running pretty smoothly until recently, with the car only clocking at 12475 KM on the odometer. I haven't had any work done recently, last service being just a few kilometres ago. The A/C problem surfaced all by itself which is quite puzzling. I'll follow your advice and have the lines/cables checked though. Fingers crossed it's as straightforward as your experience. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, no problem at all, happy to help! Based on what you've shared, since your Nissan President is relatively low on mileage, it seems a bit unusual for such issues to crop up so early. But then again, cars can be unpredictable beasts sometimes, eh? In my experience, early failures could be linked to manufacturing issues or some wiring mix-up. It might sound far-fetched but not unheard of. If it isn't the air quality sensor signal like I originally thought (and hope it is, as that's relatively easy to fix), it could be the A/C compressor or something related to the refrigerant. A good diagnostic check should reveal any issues there. Regardless, do get it checked at a reliable workshop. You don't wanna risk more damage by driving around with a faulty A/C, especially in this heat. I hope the problem gets resolved quickly so you can have those cool drives again. Good luck!

Hey! Really appreciate your detailed insights and suggestions. I hadn't considered the possibility of early manufacturing issues or a malfunctioning A/C compressor. It's so great getting advice from someone who's been there and done that. You're absolutely right in saying that I shouldn't risk further damage by driving around with these issues - so I booked an appointment at a nearby garage for comprehensive diagnostics. They've got a pretty solid reputation with Japanese car models, so hoping for the best. It's sure been a struggle without proper air conditioning in this weather. Thanks a ton for your help. Stay cool!
