Hey there, thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds pretty much like what I'm going through with my Venue. As for diagnosis, not yet. Apart from hitting 57507 KM on the odometer, there hasn't been recent work done on it. My Venue had a full service not so long ago too. So, it seems that a visit to the mechanic to check on the ECU looks like my best bet, huh? Cheers!
You bet! Given all the symptoms you've stated—particularly the potent exhaust, decreased fuel efficiency, and power loss—I'm more convinced than ever about my earlier suggestion. Not that I'm an absolute car guru, mind you. But I've been through this, and a software glitch messing with the fuel system sounds right on the money. Reprograming the ECU sorted everything out for my Kona. So, if it's a similar issue, your Hyundai Venue should 've right as rain once your mechanic handles it. Considering it's a 2022 model, this shouldn't be a pricey fix, just as I found with mine. Of course, keep in mind that no two cars and issues are ever identical, even with the same make and model. So, I'd advise setting an appointment with your mechanic ASAP for a proper diagnosis. Don't want those symptoms turning into something more severe over time, right? Best of luck!
Spot on! Better to tackle the issue head-on than wait for a total breakdown. As you've suggested, I'll set up an appointment with my mechanic ASAP and get an expert opinion on it. And you're absolutely right about the software glitch. It does sound plausible, so I'll definitely get my ECU checked as well. Thanks for all your insights, really helped a bunch! Cheers!
Hey! I had identical gremlins with my 2020 Hyundai Kona, so let's just say I'm no stranger to this issue, although my car expertise would only be described as "some experience". At the workshop, the mechanics found incorrect software values for the fuel pump, causing havoc with the fuel system. The culprit disturbed the metering of my air/fuel mixture, presenting a range of symptoms quite similar to yours—from the reduced power straight down to the dark exhaust fumes. So, all they had to do was reprogramme the ECU with corrected values. Only set me back by 45€, thankfully. By the way, have you had a diagnosis? Any recent work done to the vehicle? Knowing more specifics about your Venue would help me give you a clearer picture.
