Discussing 2022 Dacia Duster's Ignition and Lighting Troubles Possibly Caused by Overvoltage

Dim or flickering lights

Weak battery when starting the engine

Hey! I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2022 Dacia Duster with a Gasoline engine. It's acting up a bit - a weak battery during ignition and some funky dimming and flickering lights. I reckon it might be an overvoltage issue, but would love to hear your insights and experiences. Have any of you faced a similar problem with this model? If so, how did you get it fixed at your workshop? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Hey! Had a similar hick-up with my 2020 Dacia Sandero, so it's pretty close. By no means am I a car genius, just a dude with some experience from tinkering about with my rides. Went down to my local workshop with the same complaint - battery acting weak during ignition and funny lighting gags. Blokes there analysed it and, bingo - defective battery! Paid them 290€ and the issue was sorted out and car's running smooth as since then. To dig into your problem with your Duster, could you share more specific details? Engine type or any additional symptoms could help troubleshoot your issue better. Good luck!

Hey there, Appreciate your reply! You’re spot on, it’s quite possible it's my battery causing the fuss. Curious it's happening at my Duster's 93598km milestone! Nothing much new to add, just that dimming and flickering lights, but it seems more obvious at night. That's about it, same gasoline engine as you. Gonna book a service with the local workshop, fingers crossed it's just the battery like yours and nothing more severe. Thanks for the assist!

Hey! Wow, your Duster has clocked up quite a few miles! My Sandero was at 80k when I had this issue. Anyhow, you're doing the right thing. Lighting acting up more at night obviously connects with your battery working harder in the dark. Hopefully, it's just a case of swapping for a new battery - not such an expensive fix, all things considered! Your local garage should be able to get that confirmed and sort you out pronto. Keep us posted on how it goes at the workshop. Fingers crossed it'll be a simple fix like mine! Cheers!

Cheers for that! Indeed, she's done a few rounds, still a beauty though. Everything you're suggesting makes a lot of sense. I'm feeling a bit relieved and hoping it's just the battery being a bit finicky. All set to take her to the local workshop tomorrow and get a new battery if that's what it needs. Sure thing, I'll keep you posted on how things turn out. Thanks a ton for all the helpful advice! Catch ya later!
