Thanks for your input! My Discovery has 92053 KM and just had its service last month. Haven't noticed any other issues besides these warning lights. No recent work done on suspension or hood. Really appreciate the sensor tip, that's actually quite helpful and makes sense given both lights are coming on together. Might save me some diagnostic time at the shop. Did your sensor issue show up suddenly or was it gradual?
Hey again! Thanks for those details about your Discovery. You know, in my case with the Range Rover Sport, the warning lights actually showed up pretty suddenly, just popped on during a normal drive. Sounds exactly like what you're experiencing. Since you mentioned you just had service last month and no other work done, I'm even more convinced it's likely the same sensor issue I had. Mine was also running fine otherwise, no weird behavior, just those annoying lights staring at me from the dash. Actually, here's something interesting, after I got it fixed, my mechanic told me these sensors can sometimes fail without warning due to age rather than mileage. My car had similar mileage to yours when it happened. One quick tip from my experience, when you take it in, ask them to specifically check the acceleration sensor first. Could save you some diagnostic fees since it's a known issue. The repair itself wasn't too complicated once they identified the problem, took about 2-3 hours in total. Let me know how it goes when you get it checked out! I'm curious if it turns out to be the same issue as mine.
Thanks so much for all this detailed info! It's really reassuring to hear your experience was so similar, especially about the lights coming on suddenly like mine did. I'll definitely ask about the acceleration sensor when I take it in tomorrow. Going to save me a lot of headache knowing where to start looking! Really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything, especially that tip about sensor age versus mileage, that's not something I would've considered. I'll update you once I get it sorted. Fingers crossed it's as straightforward as your repair was!
Hi there! I have some experience working on cars and faced something very similar with my 2012 Range Rover Sport diesel. I initially got spooked by those same warning lights coming on together. Took it to my regular workshop and it turned out to be a faulty acceleration sensor, apparently it's a known issue with these models. The repair set me back about 315 Euro, but it fixed both warning lights. The sensor was throwing off multiple systems since it's connected to both safety features and the speedometer. What's your Discovery's mileage and have you noticed any other symptoms? Just asking because there might be related sensors that need checking depending on the car's history. Also, have you had any recent work done on the suspension or hood mechanisms? Let me know these details and I might be able to share more specific insights from my experience!
