Thanks for sharing your experience! My Discovery is indeed acting quite similar. I've got the 2021 Diesel model with 110532 KM on the clock, and the park assist started acting up right after my latest service. It's interesting that a simple cleaning fixed your issue, definitely cheaper than what I was worried it might cost! I'll check with my mechanic about cleaning the sensor first before exploring more expensive options. The warnings seem to come and go, which is pretty annoying when you're driving. Did you notice any pattern with yours before getting it fixed?
Hey again! Yeah, the unusual warnings are super annoying, right? I totally remember that from my situation. Actually, with mine, I noticed the warnings would pop up more frequently during bad weather or after driving on dirty roads. Looking back, that should've been a clue about the dirty sensor! Since you mentioned it started after your service, maybe they accidentally knocked something loose or didn't properly clean the sensors during the wash? With my Range Rover, I learned that these sensors are pretty sensitive to even small amounts of dirt or misalignment. One thing I didn't mention before, before I got it fixed, I tried cleaning the sensors myself with a microfiber cloth, but that didn't do the trick. The workshop used some special cleaning solution and calibration equipment that made all the difference. Oh, and here's something weird, after they fixed mine, they recommended checking the sensors every few months, especially if you do a lot of driving. I've been doing that, and haven't had any issues since. Maybe worth adding that to your maintenance routine too? Keep us posted on what you find out! Always curious to hear if it's the same simple fix or something else entirely.
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! That's really helpful info about the weather and road conditions affecting the warnings, now that you mention it, I've noticed mine acting up more on rainy days too. Makes total sense about the dirt being the potential culprit. I just booked an appointment with my mechanic for next week. They seemed pretty confident after I described the symptoms and mentioned your experience. They'll check if it's just a cleaning issue first before diving into anything more complex. The fact that it started right after the service does make me wonder if something got knocked loose during the cleaning, like you suggested. I really appreciate the tip about regular sensor checks too, definitely going to add that to my maintenance routine once this is sorted. Fingers crossed it's just a simple fix like yours was! I'll update the thread once I get it checked out. Thanks again for all your help, it's been super reassuring to hear from someone who dealt with the same issue!
Hey there! I had a very similar issue with my 2019 Range Rover Sport Diesel last winter. The park assist went crazy, and those annoying electrical warnings kept popping up on the dash. Turns out, the radar sensor was just really dirty, probably from all the road grime. Took it to my regular workshop, and they did a thorough cleaning of the sensor and recalibrated the system. The whole thing cost me 45 Euro, and it's been working perfectly since then. Much cheaper than I expected, honestly! Before you head to a shop though, what's your exact Discovery model and engine variant? Also, when did you first notice these symptoms? Might help narrow down if it's the same issue I had. Hope this helps!
