Hey, of course I remember the cost. The defective glow plug, caused by wear and tear, cost me a total of €560 to have it replaced in the workshop. But since the mechanic did it, everything has been great. No more problems with my Toyota, it's humming like a kitten. I hope this helps you and you're as lucky as me!

Hey, thanks for all the info and your help! It definitely gives me a better idea of what to expect when I go to the garage. It's reassuring to hear that the Toyota ran smoothly after the repair. I hope my mechanic has the same good touch! Thanks again, and all the best for your Toyota!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2021 Toyota Hilux. Just like you, the pre-glow light was constantly on and the car had difficulty starting, especially in cold weather. I had also noticed black smoke and a steady drop in fuel efficiency. My mechanic read the fault code and found that the glow plug was faulty. Using a special tool, he was able to remove the faulty glow plug and fit a new one. The bad thing about such a case is that, if you're unlucky, the glow plug can break off, which can then lead to a major repair. Fortunately, he was able to replace the glow plug in my car without any problems. Once the new glow plug was fitted, the car ran as normal again. Although it was a frustrating problem, the actual repair was quite straightforward. After the repair, there was no more black smoke and the car ran smoothly again. I hope it goes just as well for you. Good luck with it!
