Air conditioning blows warm air

Hello everyone, I'm a bit worried about my air conditioning on my 2015 Seat Leon (petrol engine). It's already done 65800 km and has only been blowing warm air for some time now. I can't really feel any cooling/heating performance and sometimes the system doesn't even seem to start. I think it could be due to a signal error in the interior temperature sensor. Has anyone had similar experiences or can comment on this? My last experience at the mechanic was not the best, so I wanted to ask here first. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Seat Ibiza. It all started when the air conditioning only emitted warm air. Turned out to be the compressor that was the problem, not the cabin temperature sensor. It was quite a serious problem because it not only affected the cooling function, but also the general engine behavior. It could be the same for you, but that's just my guess. No doubt it should be checked by a professional. I hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! OK, that's interesting. So it was the compressor in your case? Hm, I wouldn't necessarily have guessed that. Can you still remember what you spent to get it going again? And have there been any other things that have come up since then? Salute!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Well, in my case it was different things back then, it was the compressor and it cost me a pretty penny. But since your question, I've sent my car to the mechanic again and this time it was actually the interior temperature sensor. So you were right with your suspicion! The fault was rectified and now everything is running smoothly again. It cost me €150 to mend the sensor, but everything has been fine since then. No more problems with the air conditioning. I hope this helps you! All the best!

Hey, thanks for the info, it was super helpful! At least I now know that there could be various reasons and that it doesn't necessarily have to be the interior temperature sensor. 150 € for the repair of the sensor sounds more feasible, hopefully it's the same with my Leon and not the more expensive compressor. I'll take your advice to heart and have it checked by a professional. Thanks again and I wish you all the best!

Hey, the reasons for your Seat Leon's AC blowing warm air could be due to compressor problems, electrical faults, a faulty temperature sensor, or a clogged condenser. I would firstly check all these components or get a second opinion from a reputable person. Hope this helps!
