The heat exchanger had to be replaced because it was apparently leaking and causing some sort of short circuit. This not only affected my air conditioning system, but also other parts of the electronics. It was a pretty serious problem and I'm glad I got it fixed in time before it caused serious engine problems. You might want to visit your mechanic and get that checked out too. Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help! After I went to the mechanic, the problem with the temperature sensor on the heat exchanger was resolved. He fixed it straight away. Since then, the air conditioning has been running perfectly again, so it was the right decision. As for the repair costs, you have to do the math. The air conditioning control unit was defective and it cost me €980 to replace it. It was a hefty sip from the bottle, but everything has been running smoothly ever since. Nothing else has come up so far! I hope it works out just as easily for you.
