Hey, that really sounds like a similar problem that I had with my CLA Class. In my case, it was the fuel pump and after it was replaced, the car ran great again. I would advise you to have your car checked by a garage. If it is indeed the fuel pump, it is important that it is replaced as soon as possible. Can you remember how much you paid for the repair? And have there been any other problems with your car since then? I hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. Good luck!

Hey, you're in luck, I still remember the bill well! I had to fork out €640 to replace the faulty fuel pump module in my car. Quite a bite, but since then my E-Class has run like clockwork. No other problems, which I think were directly related to the fuel pump failure. I hope you have the same luck as me and your CLA gets back on the road again. Keep your fingers crossed, buddy!

Thanks for your replies and encouragement guys! Honestly, I'm relieved to know that it's probably the fuel pump. It's expensive to replace, but it sounds like it's worth it to get my Mercedes back on the road. I'm going to take the car into the garage on Monday and hope they can fix it as quickly as they did yours. I'll let you know what happens and thanks again for your advice and experience. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I'll be back on the road soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hey, I know exactly what you mean! I had the same symptoms with my 2017 Mercedes E-Class diesel. Jerky engine, black smoke, check engine light was constantly on and fuel consumption was terrible. It turned out that the fuel pump module was actually faulty. I always go to my favorite garage and the guys there are pretty good. They replaced the module and the whole thing was done in a couple of hours. Since then my car has been running great again and no longer has all these problems. It's definitely a serious problem, but once it's fixed, your car should be back to normal. So, based on my experience, I would say yes, it could very well be that your fuel pump module is the problem. You might want to get it checked out. And don't worry buddy, hopefully it's the same problem as mine and gets fixed quickly. Good luck!
