Hey, thanks for your quick response. I'm somewhat reassured that you had the same problem and that it could be solved by replacing the battery sensor. Do you happen to remember roughly how much it cost? And have there been any further difficulties since then or was the problem really completely resolved?

Hey, no problem, glad I can help! After the mechanic replaced the battery sensor, the starting problems were really solved - since then my Mercedes has been running like clockwork again! The cost of the repair wasn't cheap though, I had to pay €315. A bit steep, but the problem is now a thing of the past and I haven't had any more problems with the battery sensor since. So, don't let yourself grow too many gray hairs, take care of it and your Mercedes will certainly be back on track. Hope this helps you!

Hey, that really helps me! I'm now much more optimistic about solving the problem. Your information about the costs also helps me with my planning, even if the amount sounds a bit high at first. But in any case, safety means more than money, so I'll get that checked out. Thanks again for your tips. They have really helped me. I hope my Mercedes will soon be running like clockwork again too. Thank you very much and take care!

2017 gla diesel merc,do I have to register new battery
Yes, for most modern Mercedes-Benz models, including your 2017 GLA Diesel, you do need to register the new battery after replacement. This is because the car's computer system needs to recognize the new battery and reset the battery monitoring system. It's a process that ensures your vehicle's electrical system functions properly. You can have this done at a dealership or a qualified mechanic. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if you need further clarification.

Hey, that's exactly what happened to me. The battery in my 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG also only charged sporadically and almost never started. During the diagnosis, a battery sensor microprocessor was found to be defective. The mechanics replaced the sensor because it was no longer charging the battery properly, and that's why I had the starting problems. It was pretty serious because my car was no longer safe without this repair. It was a bit tricky, but after the replacement I'm back on the safe side and haven't had any more problems. So yes, it could well be that your battery sensor is the problem. You should definitely have it checked. Hope that helps you.
