Difficulties with cold start and warning light on Renault Twingo (2010)

Weird engine noise

|

Car won't start

|

Longer cold start time

|

Weak battery when starting the engine

|

Dim or flickering lights

|

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I have a little problem with my Renault Twingo from 2010 (gasoline engine, 104859km mileage). Recently the cold start takes longer, sometimes the car won't start at all and I hear strange noises from the engine. In addition, the battery is low when starting, the lights are dimmed or flickering and the warning light in the speedometer is also on. My guess is that this could have something to do with the engine starting. Have you had similar problems and how did you deal with them at your garage? Unfortunately, I didn't have the best experience there last time, so I'd be really interested in your advice. Thanks in advance!

Hey buddy, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Renault Clio. The fault was the result of a secondary fault in the vehicle's electrics. It can be damn annoying, I know that! In my case it was a problem with the starter motor and alternator, electronic stuff wasn't working properly either. The starter motor had to be replaced and the alternator repaired. It was definitely nothing to take lightly - it took several days in the workshop. After the repair, my car ran like clockwork again. Hope that helps you a bit. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, I had the same problem with my Twingo. It sounded exactly like yours and it also turned out that the starter motor was broken. Replacing it was really necessary. But a question for you, do you remember how much the repair cost you? Has anything else come up since then that has caused trouble? I'd be really interested to learn more about such problems. Regards!

Hey, I'm glad I can help you! So, since I've had the starter checked and fixed by the mechanic, the problem with the engine starting has finally been resolved. The good part is that it didn't cost me a dime, as it was considered a secondary problem with the vehicle's electrical system. As you know, everything is often connected. Since then, nothing else has come up with my Twingo that has made me white-hot. It's running like a bee again, so to speak. Hope that calms you down a bit! Greetings back!

Thanks to both of you for the helpful tips, guys! I will definitely have the starter checked, your guesses sound absolutely plausible. At least now I'm reassured that it's not something I've overlooked. And it's good to know that it might not be as expensive as I initially feared. I hope that everything will run smoothly again after the repair. Now that the car has been repaired and is otherwise very reliable, I would be really happy if we could get the problem out of the way. I will keep you up to date. Thanks again and see you soon!
