Hey, thanks for the quick reply, that gives me a bit more certainty that it's not a total loss after all! Do you happen to remember how expensive the total repair was? And did anything else come up afterwards that you could trace back to the mixture preparation error, or did everything run smoothly again? Thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem, it's like a brotherhood when it comes to car problems, you know? The mechanics charged me 250 euros to repair the fuel pressure regulator. At first I thought they were going to rip me off, but then everything ran like clockwork again. The mixture preparation error that we had suspected was actually completely rectified. Since the visit to the workshop, my Benz hasn't made such a fuss again. So, no further problems after that. Hope it works just as well for you. Cheers!

Hey, great to hear! Of course, 250 euros is not a lot, but if it works well again afterwards, it's definitely worth it. It's really great that you've already been through it and were able to share your experience here. That really puts my mind at ease. And thanks for the brotherhood humor, it really lightened the mood! I'm going to tackle the matter with renewed courage and hope that the workshop can breathe new life into my Peugeot. Many thanks and cheers back!

Hi, dude, I had a really similar experience when my 2000 gasoline regulator was defective. Exactly the same symptoms you described - black smoke, rough engine, bad cold start and that damm wobble! It looked like my Mercedes-Benz E-Class was dying. I drove straight to the garage. Let me tell you, it was really serious. They had to replace the entire fuel pressure regulator. As you correctly guessed, it was a mixture conditioning fault. The regulator ensures that the fuel pressure in the system remains constant, and when it's broken, it can really become a nightmare. I have to say, although I thought it was the end of my car, it wasn't. After they replaced the part, it ran like a dream again. Don't worry, it's fixable! Hope this helps you! Best regards.
