Diesel particulate filter regeneration problems on the A3 (2015)

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2015 A3 Audi diesel. It's been acting really strange lately. I've noticed black smoke when accelerating, loss of engine power, the check engine light is on and my DPF doesn't seem to be regenerating correctly. It is also quite noisy. Could these problems be related to the diesel particulate filter? Have you had similar experiences or do you have any specific tips for me? I am particularly interested in how you solved this problem in the workshop and what your experiences were.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 A5 Audi diesel, it was just as temperamental as yours. My DPF was actually internally defective, so regeneration was no longer possible, so I had to have it replaced at the garage. My visit to the workshop was quite straightforward, but I had to bleed quite a bit. The whole thing cost me about 2200 euros. Can you give me more details about your car and your problem?

Hey, thanks for your reply and sharing your experience! My car has 135214 km on it and the problems have been appearing for about 1-2 weeks. It's really strange, you're driving relaxed and all of a sudden the thing shows problems. Now the check engine light is also on. That's a lot of wood just for the filter. I'll definitely have to think again about whether it's worth it. I've made an appointment at the garage next week. Let's see what they say. I'll then give an update here. Thanks for your advice and help! I hope it all clears up soon. And of course, stay safe and have a safe journey!

Hey, no problem! I'm glad I could share my experience with you. Better get it checked out first, maybe it's really the DPF or maybe it's cheaper, keep your fingers crossed! Stay safe and always have a clear road ahead of you!

Thanks for the support! Went to the workshop today. They said they would first try to clean the filter. If that works, it shouldn't be too expensive. But I didn't dare ask what exactly that means. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hello, Before replacing the DPF, I would first read out the car and check whether it might just be due to a defective sensor, e.g. that the exhaust back pressure sensor is defective or something. The DPF can also be cleaned. There are several companies that specialize in this. Of course, if the DPF is internally defective, this will no longer work. MFG
