Hey, thanks for your quick reply and the helpful tip about the EGR valve. That has already helped me quite a bit. Can you still remember how much it cost you to replace the valve at the garage? And have there been any other problems with the engine or other parts in your DS3 since then? I'm really grateful for your help, it gives me some clarity about the whole situation. Best regards!

Hey, glad I could help! I remember the costs pretty well - the malfunction in the EGR valve was repaired by the mechanic and cost me €355. Since then, everything has been fine again. There have been no further problems with the engine or other parts. So the repair was really worth it. But you know, every type of car can have its own little quirks. The main thing is to keep up with the maintenance of your DS5. Have a good trip and hopefully you'll have this problem solved soon! Best regards!

Hello, thank you very much for your detailed information! The costs seem to be within an acceptable range and I'm reassured to hear that no further problems occurred afterwards. I will take my DS5 to the garage as soon as possible and have the EGR valve checked. Thanks again, that has really eased my fears and pointed me in the right direction. I'll keep you posted as soon as the car is repaired and running smoothly again. Best regards!

Hello, I had the same problem with my Citroën DS3 (built in 2013). The symptoms were similar, the engine wasn't running smoothly, the check engine light was on and also had this extreme exhaust problem. And yes, you're right, that sounds like the EGR valve. That was the problem with my car, the EGR valve was defective and jammed. When I went to the garage at the time, they quickly diagnosed the problem. They replaced the valve and then everything ran like clockwork again. It's a serious thing because the EGR valve is quite important for exhaust gas recirculation and if it's not working properly, it can lead to all sorts of problems like you described. So in my opinion, it's best to take your car to the garage as soon as possible. Their experience helped me a lot back then, and as soon as the EGR valve was replaced, everything was ok again. That was definitely a load off my mind. Good luck and hopefully you can solve the problem quickly.
