Hey, thanks a bunch for your reply! It's a relief to know I'm not the only one facing such a nightmare. Sounds like I'll be looking at an intensive cleanup for my Arkana too, it all adds up with what you described. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit worried about the cost though. Mind me asking how much you ended up shelling out for the trouble? Also, did you face any other problems after this cleanup? Any unexpected event since having the repair? I'm keen to know so it doesn't take me by surprise. Anyhow, appreciate your help, cheers!
Hey there! No problem at all, happy to help where I can. You've got it right, the cleanup was fairly intensive, but it totally sorted out that malfunction with the smooth running control you were suspecting. Since visiting the mechanic, I haven't noticed any more issues with it, so there's some peace of mind for you! I can tell you're a bit concerned about the price tag - I feel ya, bud. Repair costs can be a drag sometimes, ain't they? I ended up parting with around 425€ for the whole operation, which was totally worth seeing my Kadjar back in shape. Majority of that was because the intake channels were chock-full of grime and gunk, leading to the sluggish performance you've been noticing. No unexpected events or problems since the repair, though! It surprised me too, but it's been busting out smooth rides ever since, just like the good ol' days. Keep my fingers crossed your Arkana will bounce back just the same after its little spa treatment in the workshop. Best of luck!
Really brilliant! Your detailed account certainly alleviated my worries a bit, can't thank you enough for that. And the costs aren't as scary as I initially thought, so that's another load off my mind. On the bright side, seems like I'm gonna get good value for the money with the improvements post-cleanup, and it's comforting to hear you had no surprises afterwards. Guess I'm set for my Arkana's little visit to the spa, just as you so charmingly put it! Thanks a million for your helpful insights, it's been genuinely enlightening. Here's to hoping my old girl bounces back just like your Kadjar did. Cheers!
Hey, I feel ya! I own a 2019 Renault Kadjar and had a somewhat similar situation a while back. Mine was also pretty sluggish, not to mention the engine light that's been a constant eyesore. It sure sounds like the intake channels could be heavily contaminated. When I took mine in to check it out at the local garage, the mechanic confirmed my suspicions. My intake channels were filled to the brim with all sorts of gunk, which was choking the performance out of my car and causing rough engine functioning. They had to do an intensive cleanup to restore anything close to smooth running. It's quite a task requiring removal and cleaning of the manifold and other key components. I gotta tell ya, even though it was a pain, it was nothing lethal to the car. The mechanic explained it's a common issue, especially in high mileage vehicles such as ours. Do book your car with a reliable workshop, they'd surely sort this out. I now keep tabs on the maintenance schedule more closely. Hope this helps, best of luck!
