Defrost function of the wing mirror on Peugeot Rifter 2018 goes on strike: experiences and possible solutions
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The defrost function of a 2018 Peugeot Rifter's wing mirror is not working. A similar issue was resolved in a 2015 Peugeot 3008 by addressing a faulty cable connection to the mirror. The repair involved replacing the connector and re-establishing the cable connection, which restored the mirror heating function. This suggests that the problem might be due to a simple electrical connection issue rather than a major defect.

Hey, thanks for your help! That's a relief - sounds like a manageable repair. Do you happen to remember what you paid for it? And has anything else occurred since then that could be related to the problem?

Hey, sure, no problem! So, to be precise, the cost of fixing the cable connection/plug was €155. Since the visit to the workshop, no further problems have arisen and the defect in the exterior mirror or the exterior mirror heater has been rectified. The heater has been running like clockwork ever since. Really, no further problems since then!

Great, thanks for all the info! 155 sounds fair, so I'll budget around that. It's great that you haven't had any more problems, that gives me hope. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, we had the same problem last year with our 2015 Peugeot 3008. It was actually a problem with the cable connection to the mirror. At the garage they replaced the faulty connector and re-established the cable connection. It wasn't rocket science, but you needed the right tools and know-how to get to the cables. The good thing is, it wasn't a major defect and the mirror heating worked perfectly again afterwards. Hope that helps!
