Of course, I can tell you that. After the mechanic had looked over it, the defect in the motor for the steering column adjustment was actually rectified. There were still a few things to do to the control unit, which ultimately cost 1000 euros. But I haven't had any more problems since then. So, I think it was definitely worth it, even if it was a lot of money at first. At least I now have the security of knowing that everything is working as it should. I hope this gives you some clarity for your decision. And always remember: It's better to have it checked once more before you have to deal with a broken car!

Hey, thanks for the info! That's definitely good news. I'll ask my garage to take a closer look at the control unit. The 1000 euros is quite a hefty price, but if it helps fix the problem and no further issues arise, then it's definitely worth it. I'll let you know how it goes. I will definitely take your advice to have it checked more often. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I can totally understand you. I once had a similar problem with my 2017 Renault Mégane. In my case, it was the control unit that stopped working, not the engine itself for the steering column adjustment. This can lead to all kinds of symptoms. After they replaced the control unit in the workshop, everything worked as it did on the first day. Don't let them target the engine straight away, at least that wasn't the main problem for me. At first I thought it was nothing major, but yes, in the end it was a serious issue. So, before you do anything major to your car, it's better to have your ECU checked. Hope that helps you. Have a safe journey!
