Dealing with low tire pressure signal on the Renault Wind 2012

Tire pressure to low

Hey guys, I'm currently struggling with a problem with my 2012 Renault Wind with a gasoline engine and 11968 km on the odometer. My tire pressure sensor indicates that the pressure is too low. Do you think this could be a signal error in the tire pressure sensor? Have you ever had a problem like this and what was your experience with the garage? I didn't have a good gut feeling there last time. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I actually had similar trouble with my 2015 Renault Clio. The control unit of the tire pressure monitoring system was defective. Don't panic, it wasn't a big deal. The sensors usually work very accurately, and if you have a signal that the pressure is too low, then it's usually genuine. Of course, there can also be a fault, but that's rare. So I went to the garage and they checked the sensors and it seemed that it was actually the control unit that was at fault and not the sensors. They replaced the part and I haven't had any problems with it since. The whole process took a couple of hours, but it was definitely worth it, because an incorrectly displayed tire pressure could lead to serious problems. So my advice, just get it checked. It could be something serious, but it could also just be a minor issue. Hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for the answer. That sounds reassuring and I think that's the right step for my wind. Can you remember what you paid for the repair back then? And have you had any other problems with the tire pressure monitoring system since then? I'd like to be as prepared as possible before I go to the garage. Thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem! After my visit to the mechanic, the tire pressure sensor signal error was fixed. It cost me €355 to repair the defective control unit of the tire pressure monitoring system. Since then everything has been running fine, no more problems with the tire pressure monitoring system. So be prepared when it comes down to it, but I'd say it's worth every penny. Good luck, dude!

Hey, thanks for the detailed answer. That helps me a bit. Of course it's a bit of money for the repair, but it's worth it to me if it means I'm safe on the road again. So I'll do the same and take my Wind to the workshop. Thanks for the tips and stay healthy! Apparently my gut feeling wasn't so wrong after all. Have a nice day!
